What is Rick and Morty?

Rick and Morty is an American animated science fiction television sitcom which premiered on December 2, 2013, on Adult Swim.

The series follows Rick, an alcoholic scientist, and his easily distressed, chronic underachieving grandson, Morty, on their adventures to alternate dimensions. These adventures commonly cause trouble for Morty’s family, who are often caught up in the mayhem.

In August 2015, Adult Swim renewed the series for a third season, which will consist of 10 episodes. The first episode of season 3 premiered without any prior announcement on April 1, 2017, with the rest of the season beginning on July 30, 2017.

As of August 6, 2017, 24 episodes of Rick and Morty have aired.

Episode 1

Pilot

Plot is the first episode of Rick and Morty.

It premiered on Adult Swim December 2nd, 2013. In this episode were introduced to Rick Sanchez a drunken mad scientist parodying Doc from Back to the Future and His companion Morty parodying Marty from Back to the Future.

In this episode Rick proceed to stick giant mega seeds waaaaaaaaaaay up Morty’s butt way up there.

Episode 2

Lawnmower Dog

Lawnmower Dog is the second episode of Rick and Morty.

It premiered on Adult Swim on December 9, 2013, was written by Ryan Ridley, and directed by John Rice.

In the episode, Rick gives Jerry a device to enhance the dog’s intelligence, whilst Rick and Morty get lost in the dreams of Morty’s math teacher.

The episode was well received, with approximately 1.5 million viewers when airing.

This episode was inspired originally from co-creator justin roiland’s dog world a 15 minute short pilot episode that adult swim orinonally turned down which you can watch here

Anatomy Park

Anatomy Park is the third episode of Rick and Morty, Is name being a reference to the Steven Spielberg production Jurassic Park.

It premiered on Adult Swim on December 16, 2013, was written by Eric Acosta & Wade Randolph, and directed by John Rice.

This episode takes place on Christmas and Jerry’s parents are coming over and he wants an electronics free Christmas creating tension for everyone.

Meanwhile Rick has brought an unhealthy homeless person named Ruben to dyognose what was wrong with his microscopic theme park. Sending Morty as his guinea pig into the Anatomy Park.

M. Night Shaym-Aliens!

Anatomy Park is the third episode of Rick and Morty.

It premiered on Adult Swim on January 13, 2014 , was written by Tom Kauffman, and directed by Jeff Myers

Rick and Morty try to get to the bottom of a mystery in this M. Night Shamyaloin style twistaroony of an episode! (Guest Starring David Cross)

Meeseeks and Destroy

Meeseeks and Destroy is the fifth episode of the first season of Rick and Morty.

It premiered on Adult Swim on January 20, 2014. The episode was written by Ryan Ridley and directed by Bryan Newton.

In the episode, Rick provides the family with a solution to their problems, freeing him up to go on an adventure led by Morty.

The episode has been well received, and was seen by about 1.6 million viewers when it was first aired on the Adult Swim channel.

Rick Potion #9

Rick Potion #9 is the sixth episode of Rick and Morty.

It premiered on Adult Swim on January 27, 2014, was written by Justin Roiland, and directed by Stephen Sandoval.

In the episode, a love potion goes wrong, creating a virus that begins to infect the entire world population, making everyone fall in love with Morty.

The episode has been well received, and was seen by about 1.7 million viewers when airing. The title of the episode is in reference to the 1959 song “Love Potion No. 9” by the Clovers.

Raising Gazorpazorp

Raising Gazorpazorp is the seventh episode of Rick and Morty.

It premiered on Adult Swim on March 10, 2014, was written by Eric Acosta & Wade Randolph, and directed by Jeff Myers.

Morty becomes a father to an alien baby, one of the most dangerous creatures in the universe. While Rick and Summer get trapped in a dangerous dimension.

Rixty Minutes

Rixty Minutes is the eighth episode of the first season of Rick and Morty.

It premiered on Adult Swim on March 17, 2014. The episode was written by Tom Kauffman and Justin Roiland, and directed by Bryan Newton.

In the episode, Rick and Morty watch cable from other dimensions, while Jerry, Beth, and Summer watch alternate reality versions of themselves using a pair of interdimensional goggles.

The episode was well received and watched by about 1.48 million viewers in the United States.

Something Ricked This Way Comes is the ninetieth episode of the first season of Rick and Morty.

Summer gets a job at a pawn shop owned by the devil. Jerry helps Morty with his science fair project, Jerry thinks Pluto is still a planet.

Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind is the Tenth episode of the first season of Rick and Morty.

It premiered on Adult Swim on April 7, 2014. The episode was written by Ryan Ridley, and directed by Stephen Sandoval.

Rick, falsely blamed for Murder by the council of Ricks, begins a cross-dimensional pursuit with the authorities, attempting to prove his innocence all the while.

Ricksy Business

Ricksy Business is the eleventh episode of the first season of Rick and Morty.

It premiered on Adult Swim on April 14, 2014. The episode was written by Ryan Ridley & Tom Kauffman, and directed by Stephen Sandoval.

Beth and Jerry head for an iceberg of a date leaving Rick in charge. Morty doesn’t get to go on any more adventures if the house isn’t in the same condition when they get back.
